Abstract:
Ellie 6.12 introduces two significant additions to the platform's collaborative and connectivity capabilities. Canvas-level commenting allows teams to attach contextual feedback directly to model elements — enabling structured design review workflows within the modeling environment rather than in disconnected tools. Snowflake integration opens a direct connection between Ellie and one of the most widely deployed cloud data platforms, allowing model metadata and schema definitions to flow between the semantic modeling layer and the physical data environment. Together, these features advance Ellie's role as the collaborative design layer between business semantics and data engineering.

We’re releasing Ellie 6.12, which brings collaboration to the forefront with the debut of comments on modelling canvases.

Teams can now leave feedback directly within the model, enhancing communication and streamlining teamwork. And there's more to come. Our upcoming releases will include notifications — both in-app and email — so you’ll never miss relevant updates to your data projects.

The ability to comment directly on models enables easier discussions right where you work, cutting down the time it takes to solve problems.

Comments ensure that you can have conversations in the right context and is another step in building a robust collaboration suite in Ellie.

Snowflake Integration

We’ve also taken a major leap forward in data management with our new Snowflake integration. You can now connect Ellie to your Snowflake instance and import schemas directly into your workspace.

This makes modelling easier, reduces manual work, and keeps your database models up-to-date. You’re now free to focus on refining models rather than manual schema updates.

We’re eager to hear your feedback on these new features — let us know either via email or directly within the app.
